Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate People & Culture Business Partner to join us at an exciting time of organisational change. This role will work closely with managers and employees as a people facing function, driving and promoting leader led organisational people capabilities. It will shape, implement and measure the effectiveness of Workforce Strategies.
About Rous
Our new site will bring together all Council operations under one roof, creating a dynamic, collaborative, and future-focused workplace. Located on a spacious 71-hectare site, the facility has been designed with staff wellbeing, sustainability, and operational excellence in mind. Rous has an operational footprint covering 3,000km2. As a county council, we are responsible for providing three specific functions; bulk water supply, weed biosecurity and flood mitigation.

Desired Skills and Experience
Your value proposition to us:
Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, or related discipline, plus minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Demonstrated recent knowledge of employment practices, legislation, industrial agreements, and awards.
Confident in coaching, mentoring, and influencing, so to effectively inspire and motivate others.
Passionate about, and a demonstrated knowledge of Human Resource best practices, trends and challenges.
Return to work coordinator certification and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the requirements of WHS legislation and the WHS Act 2011.
Your average workday will be kept busy by:
Coaching leaders in understanding workforce strategies and industrial relations matters, the impacts to their teams and translating these to their day-to-day responsibilities and roles to fully realise the benefits of workforce strategies.
Advise and support leaders and employees across a range of People and Culture related programs (including, but not limited to: Talent Management and Recruitment Strategies, Learning and Development, Performance and Recognition Programs, Employee Engagement, Change Management).
Influence management and leaders to promote, and employees to understand, the significance of workforce management strategies and positive organisational culture, values, behaviours and Employee Value Proposition across all stages of the employment lifecycle.
Applying knowledge of legislation, industrial awards, agreements and instruments to support the organisation’s effective participation in workforce relations consultation and negotiation process.
Coordinate end to end recruitment processes, including recruitment and selection processes, through to offer of employment.
Engaging and negotiating with union and industry bodies as required.
